Life Drawing Session at the Headwaters Art Society

Sunday, November 3rd from 1-4 pm

in the basement of the Discovery Centre

Bring paint, brush, pencil or paper, whatever you would like to experiment with and

 explore drawing the human form!

The Headwaters Art Society held a weekend workshop with Graham Flatt the last weekend in September. We had 11 attendees!

We wanted to offer a workshop at an affordable price. We wanted to entice people to come and check out our lovely new art room in the Canal Flats Discovery Centre.

In early 2013, we applied for a program 4A grant to bring in a mentor from the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance. The maximum amount you can receive is $2000. We received $1800. This helped us to pay for hall rental, advertising and the cost to pay for and host our instructor. Thank you, CKCA!!

We had a good teacher, great attendees and we got to show off our beautiful, light filled art room that we were able to build with grant funding from the Columbia Basin Trust. Thank you CBT!!

 

The Headwaters Art Society received great reviews. We hope to offer more workshops and events in the future. Watch this blog!

Wednesday night from 6:30 until 8 or so, painting overlooking Columbia lake. Come and join the Headwaters group. If you can't make 6:30 come a little later. You may get to see the new Art room.
I will go out today and tie flourescent orange streamer along the route.

For those coming from Invermere or points north, from highway 93 turn onto Burns ave. then left on Grainger. Then drive, drive past the mountain sheep, past the beach turnoff (stay on Grainger) until you see orange streamers and/or painters.
